What is rake?
Simply put, the term rake represents the money the dealer takes from a pot on the poker cash tables. This is standard in both online and live poker games. The dealer sets aside a portion of the pot based on the standard rake chart that the poker room has adopted. Thus, the amount of money set aside varies dependant upon the size of the pot and by the stakes of the game. Most poker rooms state a rate of rake – which is typically 5% of the pot. The amount of money taken as rake is typically capped depending on the stakes and type of game. Most poker rooms cap their rake anywhere between $1 and $3 for micro and small stakes games, while going as high as $5 for the highest stakes games in rare circumstances.
What is rakeback and how do I get it?
When a poker player (such as yourself) registers with a poker room using one of Poker VIP’s special sign-up links, you will automatically begin being rebated for every dollar you pay towards the rake. The rebate you get is rakeback. This rakeback is credited to your account by the poker room on a regular basis (usually daily, but sometimes weekly or monthly, depending upon the poker site). What is a Rakeback Provider?
A rakeback provider serves as an intermediary between poker player and poker room. The provider of rakeback negotiates a rakeback deal in advance on behalf of the poker player. When a player joins a poker room through Poker VIP, they begin receiving rakeback automatically. Poker VIP ensures the poker room compensates the poker player at the negotiated amount in the agreed upon manner. In this instance, Poker VIP serves as the rakeback provider.
What is “Total Rake” or “Net Revenue”?
Poker rooms have their own terminology and methods for calculating the amount of rake a poker player pays. Both phrases are the most common way to state how much rake you have paid. When you have set up a rakeback account through Poker VIP, you are paid a portion or per centage of this amount.
How can I get rakeback through Poker VIP Rakeback?
Rakeback can be obtained through Poker VIP in the following manner:
1. Create a free rakeback account with Poker VIP.
2. Decide what poker room or multiple poker rooms where you wish to receive your rake back from.
3. Click on the appropriate rooms.
4. Follow the detailed steps for registering or signing up to the poker rooms you have chosen.
5. Deposit and play.
6. Repeat as often as desired.
How often are my Rakeback stats updated on Poker VIP Rakeback?
Most of the information detailing your poker play for rakeback tracking purposes is updated every day. If the poker room fails to make a daily update, we will post a note detailing such. Occasionally, the reporting of the rakeback stats is delayed; however, players will be compensated despite said delay. When delays occur, this is not something we have control of and the issue resolves itself within twenty-four to forty-eight hours in most circumstances.
Can I Still Receive Bonuses from Poker Rooms if I am in a Rakeback Program?
Absolutely! Poker players still get the advertised poker room deposit bonus, as well as any other incentives advertised and offered by poker sites and Poker VIP when getting rakeback from a Poker VIP room. In some instances, deposit bonuses may be deducted in whole or in part from rakeback, but this is stated in the sign-up area for the specific poker room. When this is the case, it is advantageous to sign up for rakeback anyway, as the bonus money is not always fully deducted from rakeback. When are Rake Back Payments Made to Me?
Rakeback payments are paid depending upon the poker room. Some poker rooms pay daily to the player accounts, while others pay weekly or monthly. In terms of monthly payment of rakeback, payment is usually issued by the fifteenth of the month for the previous month’s play. Sometimes this is delayed slightly (again beyond our control). Additionally, the player’s rake back balance must exceed $19.99 for last month’s play for the rakeback balance to pay out. If the balance is less than $20, this amount will accumulate until the balance exceeds $19.99 in rake back due.
